Restaurants Closing

Sage & Cinder

Sage & Cinder, vegan restaurant in Mukilteo, is closing on February 27th. Per their Facebook post, “this pandemic has taken its toll on our ability to keep the doors open and provide you with the experience you’ve come to expect from us. Challenging doesn’t adequately describe it.”. It’s definitely worthwhile to try to get reservations before they close to enjoy their beautiful food creations.

New Restaurants

Dough Joy Donuts

Dough Joy Donuts has opened their new Capitol Hill location. Find all vegan donuts with unique flavors in their new colorful and cheerful cafe.

Ian’s Pizza

Ian’s Pizza has opened a new location in Fremont. Ian’s has vegan pizza including vegan pizza slices.

Closed Restaurants

Cafe Pettirosso

Cafe Pettirosso, in Capitol Hill, has closed. You can still find their vegan mac & cheese at their other cafe Bang Bang Kitchen and the Bang Bang Cafe (which is temporarily closed but will reopen later this year).

Evviva Woodfired Pizza

Evviva Woodfired Pizza in upper Queen Anne has closed.

Seasonal Specials

Frankie & Jo’s

Autumn Martin, the founder of Frankie & Jo’s will be a speaker at The Future of Meat event hosted by KCTS9.

Frankie & Jo’s, vegan ice cream in Ballard, Capitol Hill, and University Village has 3 seasonal ice cream flavors for February.

February’s ice cream flavors:

  • Dream State, a pistachio ice cream made with a coconut-oat ice cream base with pieces of salty pistachio-almond fudge throughout.
  • Molten Chocolate Cake, a rich, salty chocolate ice cream with ribbons of crunchy magic shell, rose chocolate sauce, and gooey molten cake pieces. 
  • Spiritual Strawberry, a strawberry ice cream sweetened with dates, maple syrup, and coconut sugar with freeze-dried strawberries and dark chocolate and mood-boosting Moon Juice Spirit Dust® are swirled throughout the creamy coconut and oat milk base.

Mighty-O Donuts

Mighty-O Donuts, all vegan donuts, has 4 seasonal donuts for February.

  • Banana Bread Donut, a banana donut dipped in a brown sugar glaze and topped with crushed pineapple chunks and roasted pecans.
  • PB&J Donut, a peanut butter and jelly donut made with raspberry jam and dipped in a peanut butter glaze.
  • Sweetheart Donut, a heart-shaped yeast raised donut dipped in a raspberry glaze and striped with their classic glaze.
  • Love Bite donut, a vanilla cake donut with a chocolate glaze and topped with organic heart shaped sprinkles.

Molly Moon’s

Molly Moon’s vegan ice cream flavor for February is Vegan Coffee & Doughnut. They’re partnering with Mighty-O Donuts to include their vanilla cake donuts in the ice cream.

Salt & Straw

Chocolate Hazelnut Cookies & Cream Ice Cream is Salt & Straw’s vegan ice cream flavor of the month.

Vegan Friendly Events

2/24/2022 @ 6:30 pm – The Future of Meat

KCTS 9 online event. The event description “for a look at the ways that the plant-based movement is shaping how we view not only meat-eating but also vegetarianism/veganism, specifically here in Washington State”. The event is free with also a $10 + $1.49 fee option to help cover the costs to hold the event.

Pasado’s Safe Haven Sanctuary Tours

Pasado’s Safe Haven continues to have sanctuary tours on Fridays and Saturdays. The tours are $15 per person with a website purchase transaction fee. Open to all ages. The sanctuary is on 85 acres and has over 200 rescued animals.
