June 2022 Seattle Vegan Updates

P-Patch & Community Gardens

Seattle has many community veggie gardens where the public can sign up for a garden space. The city of Seattle manages the P-Patch Community Garden Program that offer 88 gardens across the city. Though the waiting list for a garden plot can be long they also offer an outdoor space for everyone to explore. The above picture is of the Uptown UpGarden P-Patch Garden. Many might not realize that across the street from Seattle Center, on the highest level of the Seattle Center parking garage there’s a garden with a great view of Seattle with some seating and walking aisles to explore gardens. A surprise is an old car with plants growing out of it and car windows with Jimi Hendrix lyrics written on them. Explore, get ideas for your garden, and spend times outdoors for a free city activity for all. If you find a garden you want to garden in sign up now and you might be able to get a space for next year.
